What is HanaLock?
HanaLock helps you add a small pause before opening distracting apps, categories, or websites you choose. When you try to open a blocked target, iOS shows a Screen Time shield. HanaLock then asks you to complete a short language recognition challenge before granting temporary access — turning an impulse into a quick learning moment.
Why is an app still blocked after I unlocked it?
Temporary unlocks last for the duration you set, and iOS reapplies the shield when that time or your daily allowance ends. Exact timing depends on iOS and your device state, so a shield may reappear a little before or after you expect.
Why didn't a shield appear?
Screen Time behavior depends on iOS, your device settings, and whether Screen Time permission is enabled for HanaLock. Make sure protection is turned on in HanaLock and that Screen Time permission is granted in iOS Settings.
How do I turn protection off or change what's blocked?
Open HanaLock and use the Blocked tab to toggle protection or change which apps, categories, and websites are selected. You can also revoke Screen Time permission entirely in iOS Settings → Screen Time.
Does HanaLock collect my data?
No. HanaLock is local-first. Your learning progress, blocking settings, and Screen Time data are stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers in the current version. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I delete my data?
Because your data is stored locally, deleting the HanaLock app removes its data from your device. If you have emailed us for support, you can ask us to delete the messages you sent.
Is HanaLock a complete language course?
No. HanaLock focuses on short vocabulary, scripts, recognition, and phrases for small repeated moments. It's a focus-and-learning tool, not a full course, and it doesn't guarantee fluency.
